Chalkboard Art on Canvas
You have probably seen every kind of chalkboard design imaginable from chalk painting on platters, furniture to kitchen cabinets. Chalkboard paint has appeared on so many different items such as tags, signs, ornaments, heck, I even did a whole Christmas Tree decorated with chalkboard items.
Today I am going to share with you, how I took a blank artist canvas turning it into a Chalkboard Art on Canvas piece while it still can be used as a functional chalkboard to keep messages or a “to do list”.

Blank Artist Canvas 16×20″
- Large Strip Stencil (Hobby Lobby)
- White Chalk Marker
Rooster StencilAdhesive Spray
- Home Decor Chalk Paint White
- Paint brushes
Rather that using tape to hold stencil in place, I prefer using stencil adhesive makes it a lot quicker and much easier. Lightly spray the back of your stencil, lay stencil in place.
smooth your stencil down onto canvas
fill in rooster with white chalk paint with paint smaller paint brush. (I blended it in with half circular motions to create a feather look).
Adding Dimension to Chalkboard Canvas Wall Art
Cut a small piece of Wired Edge Houndstooth Craft Ribbon into a triangle, since this is a wired ribbon, to add dimension, cut the triangle with the wire at the top, bend it in the middle and hot glue only the corners, to the canvas on each side of the roosters neck to create bandana neck scarf.
