Planting Carrots for Easter

Planting Carrots for Easter

I can't believe Easter is almost here and I haven't even made one thing yet.  Well I started but I wanted to change things up a bit from last year.  I had to go to Walmart today to pick up a few things and while I was there I was looking for some Easter ideas, well there wasn't much and since I am not really into the traditional Easter colors I couldn't find a thing, but what I did find was some Jiffy-Pots, some burlap ribbon, burlap wired ribbon and some moss sheets not really sure what I was going to do with it.  All I knew was I really needed to get some Easter Decor made.

Here is  what I came up with using more of a natural look for my Easter decorations.
The faux grass was used in my last years Easter decor

I removed the ribbon loop from the top of the Easter egg.   Now a carrot and replaced it with the faux grass to mimic a top of a carrot.

I took the Jiffy-Pots and filled the bottom with paper towels

Placed the now carrot 3/4 of the way into the middle of the pot.
then hot glued some of the sheet moss around the edges.  If you turn your moss sheet upside down it will give you more of a dirt look.

Next I took the Offray wired ribbon and hot glued it to the Jiffy-Pots.
I love this wired burlap ribbon so easy to use, no fraying.

I had this old metal lunch box and thought it would make a good back drop and giving it a more natural  Easter display
I filled it with some moss sheet and added some natural color Easter eggs.

  1. What a clever, original idea for an Easter vignette! Love the look and I especially like how you used the wired burlap ribbon. I must get out more since I haven't spotted this in the stores yet.

  8. Hi Tammy I'm fairly new to your blog but sure love what I see. Your vignette is so cute and pleasing to the eye. Love the bunnies, carrots, all of it. It amazes me how many adorable Easter crafts people like yourself think up.
I was fortunate to find some really cute ceramic bunnies at Habitat for Humanity couple weeks ago and some springy colored burlap ribbons at Michaels last weekend. Found aqua and spring green, don't know if they had other colors of it as I got there later in day. Really have to be alert now to snag the great stuff.
We live about 18 miles from Grand Junction so I don't run into town all the time.
Look forward to seeing what you do next, such cute ideas. Happy Days
