Mesh Ribbon Christmas Trees

FEATURED AT THESE GREAT PARTIES Life on Lakeshore Drive
Mesh Ribbon Trees

This weekend I started out doing one thing and then that one thing ended up being a bomb no matter how I worked at it, it just wasn't happening the way I wanted it to.

I purchased a few rolls of  15-foot Mesh Ribbon on the intentions of making a garland for the buffet and like I said it just wasn't happening.  After getting over my frustrations, I was sitting there staring at this pile of mesh ribbon and on the table was a wooden skewer and some Styrofoam balls from another project I was working on...hmmm, OK thinking to myself I can't waste this mesh.  So here is what I came up with "Mesh Ribbon  Christmas Trees"
I stated by cutting the mesh in 4", 3 1/2", 2 1/2, 2" and not shown 1" squares, folding the squares into a triangle shape starting with the largest to the smallest.  I poked a hole with the pointed end of the wooden skewer and sliding  the mesh triangles down to the bottom and worked my way up  layering the mesh triangles with the different sizes  4", 3 1/2", 2 1/2, 2" and not shown 1" squares forming the shape of a tree and topped it off with a bow.

When I was done I had a pile of mesh ribbon strips left so I decided to create a tree from these strips, using the longest I laid them out and tied it in the middle  then slipped it over the skewer.  I  continued this with the different lengths longest to the shortest creating a tree shape.

The green tree,  I did the same way as the bronze one, only I  cut two of the stars from the bronze mesh out and glued one to the front of the skewer and one to the back.

Hope you all had a good weekend.
