Red Hat Tea and Tablescape Contest
I was very excited when my mom who is the “Queen” of her own chapter asked me if I would like to enter a spring tea tablescape contest at a Red Hat Tea event. I was very happy about how it turned out and could not wait to share the photos, first…I thought it would be fun to share some of the DIY projects I did for the party. I wanted everything to truly have a spring feel to it. So if you are thinking of having a spring butterfly tea party, you might decide to do something like this! This would even be such a perfect butterfly birthday party for a little girl!
Supplies for Spring Tea Centerpiece
- Lime Green Polka Dot Table Cloth
- Large Butterfly Nets
- Manzanita Branch
- Tear Drop Faux Crystals
- Nylon Butterflies
- Polka Dot Ribbon
- Glass Apple Basket
Butterfly wings decorated with tulle made into large bows and silk flowers to match the centerpiece.
I spray painted a birch tree branch white add a couple of butterfly nets decorated with paper doilies, ribbon and silk flowers, I hung a few crystals since Red Hatters are all about the BLING ,
and to finish it off added lots of lime green and pink butterflies with rhinestone and placed into a clear glass bucket filled with moss and finished off by added a large lime green polkadot bow.
Polka dot table-cloth , Lime green Plates to serve as a charger plates, then I layered Spring paper plates starting from the bottom up is a square spring plate, paper Doilies, scalloped round plates, paper napkins to match and placed in napkin ring with silk flower to match the centerpiece .
Small clay pots were painted white filled with moss and decorated with a butterfly, a silk flower and a metal plant stake served as their place card. Tea cups and tea pots were provided by the sponsors.
I must say this was a lot of fun and truly enjoyed putting this all together with mostly Dollar Store finds… Oh and did I mention…. I WON first place! I was thrilled!
