ROAD KILL BENCH
This bench was found by my Dad, while he was out looking for a estate sell, getting lost and then finally finding it, most of the stuff was gone. He was thinking it was a total BUST, until he noticed this Road Kill Bench waiting to be rescued sitting all in it’s ugly self on the curb to be thrown out. (I didn’t get a before picture, this is after my husband already sanded it ) We are still learning about the “take before pictures thing” anyway it was a total dirty mess…believe me it was Uggggly, but my Dad told us he knew we could do something with it and brought it home for my husband to do his magic to it. After sanding it and distressing it, after he stained the first time, it didn’t look so good too much red (again sorry no pic…so back to Home Depot and we got a new color stain. With a light sanding and adding the new color stain over it, it turned out way better than we thought it would.
I recovered it in burlap and made a couple of burlap pillows for it…placed a piece of old luggage I found at a local antique shop under the bench, it now sits up on the landing upstairs. I still need to decorate the wall above it, will share that when it is done…I have an idea!….just need to tell the husband….he always gets nervous when I say “I have an idea” he knows “I have a idea, means work”, but he is so great about making my ideas become reality and I must say, he does a pretty darn good job at whatever he does! I would now say, it wasn’t a total BUST after all!
