TABLE CLOTH RE-MADE INTO CURTAINS AND MATCHING PICTURES
Today I would like to share how a tablecloth can be repurposed into drapes.
I was looking to cover this window, not sure really what I wanted or what I was going to do. What was here before was a simple valence like the one you see in the background on the kitchen window. I liked them in the kitchen, but not so much in the family room. What I did want was something that would coordinate in color in a full length drape. With the cost of drapes and not fitting into our budget I did what most of us would do look for a bargain or perhaps something on clearance. When I couldn’t find a coordinating color or something that fit into our budget, I almost just gave up, until I happened to find these table clothes that were the perfect coordinating color to matching the kitchen valences. I purchased two of them at $10.00 a piece.
When I got home I dug out the ole’ sewing machine measured the length I needed, cut off the access at the top I created pocket by folding over the top and ran another straight stitch across the top and another at the bottom to hem. placed them on the rod and hung them.
Hanging your curtain rod close to the ceiling gives the family room a larger appearance.
I even had enough left over to make some matching pictures
Now, when I walk into this room… I think….WOW, drapes and pictures for $20.00
and best thing …they match! Can’t beat that!
