Summer is definitely here in Cali and boy is it Hot! To brighten up my home for the summer I like to decorate it in whites and tan’s, white is for the brightness of longer brighter days of the season and tan for the sand that reminds me of the beach. Most of all I like that I can bring the outdoors in and still enjoy summer right here in our air-conditioned home. There are two things I like about Summer, long Summer nights and decorating for Summer, as far as the heat, not so much! Today I am sharing 5 budget friendly ways to bring summer into your Home Decor
Adding Summer is a lot easier than you think there are so many budget friendly affordable ways to bringing summer into your home with just a few cosmetic changes to pieces you may already have on hand.
How to take a Water Carafe and turn it into a Summer Coastal Vase
How to DIY a Water Carafe into a Coastal Vase to bring Summer into your Home
Step 1: Clean and Dry Water Carafe
Step 2: add hot glue to the back of white magnet/or button and attache it to the water Carafe
Step 3: Place magnet/ button in the center of embossed raised logo on Carafe. Above is one way your carafe can look for an everyday decorated summer mantel.

Step 4: add white sand to the bottoms of your carafe in different forms
Step 5: add a single shell, stemmed tulip(s) into the white sand
Step 6: add jute/twine to the neck of water carafe

Adding decor pieces in the same colors with similar textures compliments all the other decor items, yet still allows the repurposed Summer carafe’s remain the main focus along the mantel.

Plates are always a fun to add here I used scalloped plate to mimic the waves of the Ocean, it was placed on a shabby chic plate stand to coordinate with the shabby chic embellishments on the water carafe vases.

Adding that unexpected budget friendly decor piece
Adding the unexpected is always fun, although this isn’t really Summer related it’s in same like colors and blends in adding interest to the mantel setting.
I have this complete love for an elegant farmhouse look, I couldn’t resist adding these white deer antlers wrapped with jute/twine to coordinate with all the other decor pieces embellished with twine/jute that serves as a stand for a porcelain white rose. I just love creating and adding one unexpected decor item? Do you ever add a totally unexpected off the wall piece to your home Decor?
Down on the hearth now that this setting has become more of a Farmhouse Coastal look, I added a large Wicker basket filled with manzanita branch, assortment of floral roses and hydrangea. To bring the outdoors in a rusted plant stand holds a rattan lantern.
Another great way to bring Summer into your home by adding greenery.
Simply add a few boxwood orbs on some white candlesticks.
