Wire planters and Hanging Baskets Transformation
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Friday when I got home from work I noticed my neighbor was throwing away a bunch of wire plant stands and wire hanging baskets. I was thinking to myself “what? Are you seriously they are just going to just throw those away?” I went in and told my hubby about it and he was like “Don’t you dare go through our neighbors trash!” He added that it would “embarrass him” and actually, honestly, I really couldn’t have done it anyway.
. As it turned out while I was taking out the trash cans , my neighbor just so happened to be out there at the same time. I called out to her and started kidding with her, telling her all you have to do is paint those plant stands and hanging baskets. She told me she knew, but they had been sitting in the garage too long and her husband told her to get rid of them. She then asked me do you want them? I was like oh yeah! (all the time thinking my hubby is going to be so embarrassed and not too happy about this, him thinking I went trash digging.) She also added “I have some hanging baskets too, would you like those as well?” Are you kidding me? YES!
Space is very limited on the patio, not wanting to take up anymore space than I needed to.
How To Make a Orb Planter with Wire planters and Hanging Baskets
With the wire hanging baskets, I placed one on top of the other to creating a topiary ball
I used the clips from the the chain (nothing goes to waste) to secure the two hanging baskets together, which will also be nice and allow me to tend to the flowers, that will be placed in the bottom portion of the orb
I had this finial I picked up awhile back from a local thrift store.
I placed it upside down in the hole of the top wire basket which will be another to plant in.
Two of the baskets still had moss still in them, all I had to do was add the soil and flowers
I love these double lemon flowers, so cute!
I was thinking of painting the whole orb planter, but after looking at it, I decided I liked the look of the rust and the white together, so it was left as is.
added some small ivy and other cuttings from my creeping charlie plant to the finial.
below the orb inside the first stand an old rusted out bucket with some of my herbs were added.
So, I was able to take 3 potted plants off of the patio and make it into one!
