Yes… it is another pallet project, I don’t know about you, but I really do love using pallets and can’t get enough of them in our home. While the counters collect the days mail and then the next days and by the end of the week the counter is full of a weeks mail … now mind you we have 5 people receiving mail, so you can now imagine what the counter between the family room and kitchen looks like by the end of the week …oh and don’t forget the junk mail. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried different ways to organize it, but when I spied this leftover pallet in the yard, I immediately thought Pallet Mail Station. Time to get organized!
the new pallet mail station was hung in the hallway, which also makes a great piece of wall art, this wall is located just before the kitchen making visible enough to the mail station, as you come in. I love how it looks on this wall, since I never could find that perfect piece of wall decor for this hallway.
How to Create a Mail Station from a Pallet
this is how it looked before, less the backing (didn’t happen to get … before picture)
a reclaimed wood backing was made and attached to the back of the pallet
A shelf insert was made, (one shelf at the top and the other at the bottom) to fit the opening on the left side of the pallet and wire basket trio found at local craft store. It was placed in the opening on the right side of the pallet. The entire pieces was stained with a white gel stain.
and here you can see Christmas is starting to take place here in our home.
