Spring Mantel with a Bit of Winter

Spring Mantel with a bit of Winter

Easing into Spring
As I mentioned in one of my latest post:
"I have already transitioned into …what I call a "Wintery Spring Mantel" or a "Winter mantel easing into Spring".  I know there is no such thing, but you will see what I am talking about when you see it."

Here's a little sneak peak…Spring Mantel at One More Time Events.com

Hi, hope you all had a great weekend!!!  I have been busy getting some projects ready for Spring.  I know… I know… a little early, but before you know it March 20th, first day of Spring will be here before you know it….besides I love Spring and can't wait to get out in the yard and do some gardening, so for now I'm bringing it inside.
Still keeping a bit of a Winter touch this sweater basket holding some pillows and step stool covered in faux fur.

How to Paint Bunnies at One More Time Events.com

I found these bunnies last year and as you can see there was damage to the bunnies cheek.  Since they really are not the color I wanted to use in my decor, a little paint would fix that right up.  I stippled on some grey sage.  By stippling the paint it left some of the under color to show through.

I had these eggs and to make them match and sparkle I painted them and then added some glitter

The urn vase was also stippled with some paint over the terra cotta color to tie in with the other pieces

It's a bit on the simple side…but sometimes less is more.

A boxwood wreath and 2 small white birds with a bow of silver embellishements (left over from Christmas and also used in my Valentine decor, I definatly have gotten my money's worth) to finish up this Boxwood Topiary, I added some glitter  eggs.
