When Life Gives you Lemons...Make Cookies

When Life Gives you Lemons...
Make cookies
and play with your new toy camera!

One other thing I did this past weekend was play around with my new camera my Dad bought for me.  A few weeks back my Dad bought me a new Canon Rebel ... yes... I know I am quit spoiled and very much a Daddy's Girl!  One thing about my Dad is he believes in me and although he  isn't quite sure what all this blogging stuff is about, he does know how important the quality of the pictures you post are just as important as the post itself.

In my last post,  I mentioned I spent some time in the yard cleaning up and while I was taking a little break and taking in all the  signs of spring, I got to looking around the yard and most of all at our lemon tree...this lemon tree gives all year around.
I got to thinking to myself ... I really need to start using these lemons.  There are so many things you can do with lemons.   I will share some of those things in another post, but today I would like to share some cookies and photo shots I did.

 Source and Recipe

If you like lemon cookies, you will love these.
The only thing I did different with this recipe...and well it was by accident, but sometimes those accidents end up being the best.
In this recipe it says to roll the cookie dough in the powdered sugar...well I added it to all the other ingredients...oops!  Well I don't think it really mattered, because my family loved them.

Spring is just about here and theses photo's below are a sure sign
Love, Love, Love!!!

There are so many the poor limb is hanging over.

The tree that keeps giving!

Hope I didn't bore you too much with all the photos.
But,  as they say practice makes perfect and I am far from that, but I sure did enjoy playing around with my new toy camera,

Thanks Dad!

  1. Great post, Tammy! I love anything with a lemon flavor or scent. I made tea cakes yesterday, with lemon flavoring. Needless to say, the platter is empty this morning! Your photos are great!

  5. How lucky you are to have a lemon tree in your yard! Oh, how I'd love to have access to all those fresh lemons. Cooking, baking, even cleaning they are wonderful to have on hand.

  6. I really want a lemon tree! I had a pomelo tree once (it's a type of grapefruit ancestor), but never a lemon tree. It is one of my life goals!

  7. Ok, I had to stop by just because it was about lemons. I am fortunate to live next door to a generous neighbor with a prolific lemon tree. They get so heavy they actually break limbs, so it pretty much feeds the neighbors, and walkers, and gardeners. Love your photos.
