Re-purposing Targets Manhattan Ladder Bookcase

Re-purposing Targets Manhattan Ladder Bookcase

Hi Everyone... Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend...mine was crazy busy good!

The fun started Friday when I was able to spend an amazing night with my mom...I love spending time with my mom (my BEST friend).  Not too long ago I did a sponsored post using David Tutera's Bridal collection,  you can see that Here if you missed it.  A friend of mine told me David was going to be here in Cali in Anaheim.  First thing I thought was "What a great night out with mom"  And that is exactly what we did.  First Dinner at Lazy Dog Cafe, of course a Coffee from Starbucks and then to the amazing David Tutera's Show.  We had a wonderful time, but anytime spent with mom is a great time!

Mom bought  David's book for my daughter,  so I stood in line to get it signed.
OK don't judge... it was midnight and my eyes really show it, but really look how cute this guy is!  He really puts on a great show and is an amazingly caring person!

So... that is how the weekend started.   Mr. OMT and I did get in a little DIY'ing.

On this Target Manhattan Ladder Bookcase

This Ladder all came in place when my dad purchased it and then realized it wasn't going to work out, so he asked if I could do something with it... Yeah... I can do something with it, but you know I am going to have to paint it, right?
Of Course Paint...what kind of paint?? Chalk paint of course!

Steps to new Ladder Bookcase

Chalk painted, Martha Stewart's crackle medium, Dark minwax wax, lightly sanded, highlights of 2 other paint colors and lightly sanded again.
To Finish of the ladder bookcase we added a drawer pull and knobs.

Once it was all done it was time for some decorating fun!

Added some Spring/ Easter Decorations for now, but how much fun it will be to change it for the seasons.

I picked up these beautiful daffodils at Fresh and Easy today...nothing says Spring like fresh cut flowers.

Here is one of the Easter decorations I did.  I picked up this bottle/Candle holder at a local thrift store.  It is an Avon Perfume bottle/candle holder.

Planter was found at Marshall's and greenery at Michael's

The cute little spring birds I picked up a while ago at Tia Pan.  I almost forgot I had them.

I love  the new look and how it adds color to the room.
Saturday was spent cleaning up the backyard. One of my other favorite things to do, it felt so good to be outside and with some great weather Spring is definitely in the air.    To top off the night we got to spend some good quality time with my daughter and her boyfriend...LOVE!!!
To finish off the weekend, Sunday we had a very nice St. Patrick's  dinner with my mom and dad.

Now that is what I call a great weekend!
Till Next Post Xo....
