Re-doing Old Pictures to Match New Color Sheme
Hi, So I came out of the Super Bowl locker room if you missed that post you can see it here Football Table Display to better understand what I am talking about. I am back to share some more of the color change in the family room.

So... along with the other changes I discover my pictures no longer matched. Instead of replacing the old pictures I re did them.
This Pear is the old picture, I had two of them.

You all know by now I have this thing for taking table cloths and turning them into curtains/drapes right?
Well... while I was at Marshall's I found this...no...not a tablecloth...Surprise!
How about a table runner?

I fell in love with the color and the script on it and planned on using it on the dark coffee table. Until I got to looking a the beautiful birds on both ends. OK now to put on my thinking cap..hmmm let's see I could cut both ends and use the birds and re-do my existing pictures and it will still leave me with the center piece to use on the coffee table!
...and that is exactly what I did. I took the old picture apart and lifted the raised center gently pulling it up from the matting. I then centered the bird on the old picture, turned it over and hot glued it and placed it back into the frame. Easy as that!

I love the colors on this bird which matches perfectly with the color change. It is embroidered,
which gives it dimension. I love things with dimension.
Here they are in their new nesting place.
what do you think? Not bad, 1 table runner and 2 pictures for only $15.99.

ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! What a wondeful insight you had to use those gorgeous bird "prints" to new advantage. Thanks for the inspiration. I will now (I hope) always be looking at such "mundane" things as tablecloths and table-runners in a whole new light.
