DIY Dessert Tray and Caramel Chocolate Dipped Pretzels

DIY Dessert Tray and Caramel Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
,
Hi  Everyone!  For those of you that don't know, I have been busy creating and preparing for a 30th Anniversary Event, which went real well. (I will be sharing the actual event soon), but for now, as I promised   I would be sharing some of the DIY projects and desserts that were made for the event.  To keep from making the post too long,  I will be working up to it the actual event with several post.  In my last post, if you missed the tutorial on this DIY dessert tray you can see it Here.  Today, I am going to share what was actually made for this dessert tray.

Caramel Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Rods

Caramel-Wrapped Pretzel Rods are as tasty as they are beautiful! A thick spiral of  caramel is wrapped around a crunchy, salty pretzel and dipped in  milk chocolate

Caramel Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Rods
You will need:
 Pretzel Rods
Container of Caramel
Melting Chocolates
Melting Pot

First, you will want to pull a small amount of caramel and roll it into a rope about 6 inches long. Press the top of the caramel rope into the top of a pretzel rod, and twirl it around the rod

While you are doing this process you will want to be melting your chocolates in your melting pot

when your chocolate is all melted you can start dipping your pretzels.  Only dipping enough to cover the caramel, you can use a spoon or what I use is a rubber spatula making sure all the caramel is covered.

Drag the bottom of the pretzel against the lip of the melting pot to remove excess chocolate

I place mine on parchment paper to harden.

Now ready to be served !
The Pine cone flowers were hand made and painted.  I will share that tutorial in my next post!
