Pine Cone Flowers and Burlap
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! This weekend Mr. OMT and I decided to take a break and go to the cabin to get away and celebrate our anniversary. While Mr. OMT was out fishing, I enjoyed a few do it yourself magazines and fell in love with a article on making pine cone flowers, since we were surrounded by pine cones, I quickly grabbed a bag and went out front and collected several pine cones.
Although, I loved the idea in the magazine called "find your place", I was anxious to try my hand at this. It said to cut though the pine cone, I wasn't having much luck with that, I ended up taking it apart, painting the petals and then hot gluing them together and shaping them into a flower. I decided to decorate a paper mache' box I had laying around and covered it in?....yes, my favorite burlap. I also used the burlap to make the leaves.

This was a very easy and fun project and it cost me nothing to make. I can't wait to do the idea in the magazine. Maybe for my next event?
